"What you resist persists". Carl Jung introduced us to this concept and what he meant was that the more you focus on something, the more you will experience that thing.
What you embrace, gets lighter.
It's a weird week. Kids are home. Our routine is all out of whack, (I swear I still don't even know what day it is). Maybe you're traveling, or with family.
I find myself trying to create normalcy. Work, organize... but it's not working. So I will stop trying. Stop resisting. Just embrace it.
As we approach the beginning of a new year, maybe we could think about what we want to embrace.
Looking over my New Year's ritual from last year, my first thought was, "ok, what do I want to let go of? What do I want to change?"
But I've also been finding myself trying to fit square pegs into round holes this week. It feels lighter to ask, what can I embrace? What do I choose to accept and love?
And on that note, I'll leave it to you...
There is too much going on here at my mother's house with a thousand cats and no privacy for me to focus. So I'm going to go be in it, embrace it, and worry about getting back to normalcy in the new year.
Happy New year, my dears!
