"Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on" - Steve Jobs
Do you love what you do? There is so much pressure to find your "passion" and to feel totally fulfilled with what you do for work.
Many of us are re-thinking and re-evaluating what work looks like right now.
It feels almost like a universal shift.
The office (and school) has moved to home. Businesses have closed, jobs have been lost, many jobs are now deemed "essential". We have a new appreciation for so many things we used to take for granted.
I love what I do. I love making jewelry, I love creating art, most of all I love communicating with my clients and customers and I love watching the joy spread when gifts are given and received, when self expression feels just right, and when connections are made.
This time has taught me a lot. About perspective, about gratitude, about family, about love, about being still, about listening, and about hope.
Let me just take a moment to recognize the privilege I sit in as I write this. I am healthy. My family is healthy. I have enough money to pay my bills and feed my kid. The fact that I have the space and the freedom to explore what this time means for me is not lost on me, I promise.
My business has made some shifts. Saying goodbye to my brick and mortar store was probably the most painful. But with perspective, I see that it was also the most powerful way to make space for new growth.
I'm working on some big changes, learning new skills and feeling really excited about where this path is taking me! Thanks for being here with me, I can't wait to share all the twists and turns along the ride!
How are you feeling about this cosmic shift we're in? How are you feeling about work? Have you made any big changes?
